Professor Amirhosein Ghaffarian Hoseini

Amir is a Professor of Architecture and Urban Microclimate and the Director of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies in the School of Future Environments at AUT. He is an architectural designer and an urban thinker with over 16 years of academic and professional experience in New Zealand, Canada, and Malaysia. His research primarily focuses on the future of buildings and urban areas through the lens of sustainable and healthy design and smartification. He is interested in the impact of architectural design on end-users and the influence of buildings on the urban microclimate and the future of cities. Amir is the editor-in-chief of the New Journal of Urbanization, Sustainability and Society (Emerald). He also serves as an associate editor for Intelligent Buildings International (Q2 - Taylor & Francis) and Smart and Sustainable Built Environment (Q1 - Emerald).
