Dr Laura Florez-Perez

Dr Laura Florez-Perez is an Associate Professor in the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at University College London, UK. She is also the Deputy Programme Director for the MSc in Construction Economics and Management. She completed her PhD in Building Construction at the Georgia Institute of Technology, US, in 2015. She also received a MSc in Building Construction from Georgia Tech and dual degrees, BSc in Civil Engineering and BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. She worked as a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University (2016-2019) before moving to UCL. Dr Florez-Perez’s work has been funded by the British Council Institutional Links, British Council Newton Fund, EU Tempus, Santander International Mobility, and the Georgia Department of Transportation. She is an author of over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Prior to moving to the UK, she worked as project manager in Pyramid Masonry in the US and as an engineer in Proyectos & Diseños (PYD) in Colombia. Dr Florez-Perez’s research focuses on decision support systems and information technologies to support operations and management for productivity and process improvement in the built environment.
