Ali GhaffarainHoseini

Ali is a Professor, the Head of the Department of Built Environment Engineering, a Senior Academic Representative on the University Academic Board, and an Appointed Leading Researcher at the School of Future Environments, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, as well as a Professional Architectural Engineer/Designer. Ali is also a Delegate of the College of Assessors at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), a Member of The Reference Group for Artificial Intelligence at the Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor (PMCSA) and a  Green Star Accredited Professional by New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC). He is a Founding Co-Director of Responsive + Green Urban Built Environment Lab, New Zealand and AUT’s Architectural Engineering (AE) Lab. He is an Associate Editor for the Q1 Journal of Housing and the Built Environment by Springer. At AUT, Ali was formerly involved as a Programme Leader, and Industry Engagement Coordinator. With almost 2 decades of postgraduate academic research/teaching experience (during which he has secured over $1 million NZD of funding), he has always been regarded as a high achiever.
